China aims to become football superpower by 2050

China has unveiled its blueprint to transform the country into a "soccer powerhouse" able to challenge the world's top teams by 2050

China has announced plans to become a "world football superpower" by 2050. The plan was published by the Chinese Football Association on Monday.

The strategy includes a goal of creating one football pitch for every 10,000 people by 2030. This ambitious plan also set a target to get 50 million children and adults to play football by 2020, with the final goal of becoming one of Asia's best team by 2030. President Xi Jinping previously said he wants China to win the World Cup in 15 years.

Th Chinese national football team is currently ranked 81 in the world by FIFA.
